Key Points:

  • Collaboration between development Victoria, the Australian Passivhaus Association and Introba to develop a practical approach to designing a Passivhaus project.
  • A 9-step pathway covering topics from funding to design co-ordination & supply chain to story telling.
  • A regenerative practice to catalyse a new approach.

Introduction:

In a world requiring tangible solutions to complex challenges – such as climate change, energy poverty and health crises – the Passivhaus standard offers tangible and robust outcomes that form an effective part of the solution. Various jurisdictions worldwide have adopted Passivhaus as a yardstick for delivery of high-performance, but the potential for broad change in Australia has yet to gain traction.

The Passivhaus Playbook is the result of a collaboration between Development Victoria (DV), the Victorian Government's development arm, and Introba, a sustainability led building services consultancy. DV engaged the Introba team to develop a "technically feasible, buildable, cost-effective Passivhaus approach" process. DV and Introba have published the Passivhaus Playbook to contribute to greater confidence and success in increasing the benefits of Passivhaus performance across the market.

Join us for a 1-hour session where Clare Parry & David Barker discuss the 9-step pathway that is essential in assisting project teams, designers & builders to implement positive change and receive better outcomes.
