The first certified Passivhaus Low Energy Building in Australia. Explore this innovative building on the banks of the Coliban River, in a professional setting.
Noonameena is the first certified Passivhaus Low Energy Building in Australia and as far as we know in the world (in 2018). 'Noons' is located on the banks of the Coliban River at the southern end of Lake Eppalock (90 minutes north of Melbourne) constructed with Huff n' Puff strawbale SIPs with a Ritek (now called Arcpanel) SIP roofing system. We have Doefner triple glazed windows, Roma shading blinds, Neher insect screens and a Zehnder Q350 installed providing year round clean fresh air plus a Petwalk electric dog door.
Your host John Beurle is a Certified Passivhaus Consultant and can provide detailed insights into the design build and above all the joys of living in a healthy resilient low energy home. John will welcome you with a smile and Jack our Golden Retriever will want a hug and a pat on your arrival. Remember it may be cold outside but cosy inside, so wear layers if the day is chilly outside (it may well be wet too). See you at Noons!
