This is Australia's first commercial Passive House built in a sub tropical climate. Passive House is but one (but the central one) of a number of climate responsive elements that has been built in as part of a pathfinder project. It embraces a concept called Living Laboratory whereby the environmental elements within the building e.g. circularity are made known to the occupants via digital technology. As this building is a training centre for workers in the building and construction sectors, around 17,000 students per year will have the opportunity to interact with the building and learn more about climate change, our industry's contribution to greenhouse gases and how we are responding to this global challenge.
